About

Sonia Lozano, LMHC
I help adults who feel capable on the outside but overwhelmed internally. Many of my clients are navigating ADHD, anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, stress, burnout, life transitions, or grief.
My approach is structured, practical, and collaborative. Sessions are not just about talking through what is happening. We work on understanding patterns, building skills, and creating tools you can apply in daily life.
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I integrate evidence-based strategies, including CBT and DBT-informed tools, to support focus, follow-through, emotional regulation, and long-term stability. Services are available in English and Spanish, online throughout Florida and in person by appointment in Orlando.
Additional training includes Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional, Certified ADHD Clinical Services Provider, and Certified Grief Counseling Specialist.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can briefly discuss what you are looking for, answer basic questions, and determine whether my approach may be a good fit.
If we decide to move forward, I will guide you through the next steps for scheduling.
2. What does therapy cost?
Individual therapy is $150 per 50-minute session. Payment is due at the time of service.
A superbill can be provided for possible out-of-network reimbursement if your insurance plan includes those benefits.
3. Do you accept insurance?
I accept several insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, and Florida Blue. Insurance eligibility is reviewed before scheduling.
If your plan is not accepted, you may still be able to use out-of-network benefits or private pay.
4. What does “out-of-network” mean?
Out-of-Network means you pay for sessions directly and receive a detailed superbill (receipt) that can be submitted to your insurance for possible reimbursement if your plan includes OON benefits.
Many clients choose this option for greater flexibility, privacy, and access to specialized care.
5. How do I know if we’re a good fit?
I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation call so we can briefly discuss your goals and determine whether my structured, skills-based approach aligns with your needs.
The first full session also allows us to assess fit and clarify direction.
6. What happens during the first session?
The initial session is a focused assessment where we:
Clarify your current concerns
Review relevant background
Identify patterns affecting daily functioning
Define clear treatment goals
You will leave with a structured plan and next steps.
7. How is your approach different from traditional talk therapy?
In addition to supportive conversation, sessions are practical and skills-focused. We may incorporate structured strategies drawn from CBT and DBT-informed approaches, with tools you can apply between sessions.
The goal is measurable progress, not just discussion.
8. Do you offer in-person and telehealth sessions?
Yes. In-person sessions are available in Orlando by appointment.
Secure telehealth is available to adults located in Florida.
9. How often will we meet?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build consistency and momentum. Frequency may shift over time based on progress and clinical need.
10. What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to the full session fee. This policy protects time reserved exclusively for you and ensures availability for all clients.
